Facilities, Health & Safety Lead - Manufacturing

Ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our facilities and the safety of our employees. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of facilities management across 3 sites, including maintenance, safety, security, and space utilisation. Coordinating with various departments, third parties and contractors to create a safe and productive work environment.

Who You’ll Report To: General Manager of Manufacturing

Role Purpose:

Ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our facilities and the safety of our employees. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of facilities management across 3 sites, including maintenance, safety, security, and space utilisation. Coordinating with various departments, third parties and contractors to create a safe and productive work environment.

Detail of Role:

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure the proper functioning of all facilities and systems, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Schedule and oversee routine maintenance across 3 facilities, repairs, and inspections of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Manage external contractors for specialised maintenance tasks.
  • Support and advise on energy and environmental improvement opportunities.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.
  • Stay up-to-date with local regulations and industry best practices related to safety and environmental compliance, working with internal and external parties.
  • Implement, enforce and monitor safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.
  • Measuring, analysing and presenting incidents and accidents to help drive improvements in safety to promote a positive safety culture.
  • Optimize the use of office and manufacturing space to accommodate current and future needs.
  • support office moves, renovations, and space planning projects.
  • Provide input in the development of the facilities budget and monitor expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including fire evacuation and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Act as a point of contact during emergency situations and coordinate response efforts.

Experience:

Essential: Proven experience in a Facilities Management role

Desirable: Ability to write reports and present at a senior level

 

 

Knowledge:

Essential: Knowledge of building systems, HVAC and electrical, Strong understanding of safety and security protocols.
