Hochiki's marine-approved Intelligent and Conventional products have been designed around the existing world-proven ESP and CDX ranges and have been approved for marine use by both Germanischer Lloyd and LPCB, to the MED approval scheme.

What is the MED Marine Approval?

 

The M.E.D. 96/98/EC Directive is an initiative of the European Commission (EC) in the European Union (EU) set up with the intention to reduce costs for the end user by having a simplified classification model for marine approvals.

 

All approved and authorised products, including Hochiki's, are stored in the MarED database, which to date contains more than 35,000 datasets about products approved under the EU Marine Equipment Directive.

 

Products are strictly tested by a third party, such as Germanischer Lloyd or LPCB, for use in the marine environment before being granted an approval certificate.

Intelligent & Conventional Marine Range

ACC-ENM

Intelligent Multi Sensor A Marine Approved Photoelectric Smoke Sensor, which is fully compatible with Hochiki's ESP Analogue Addressable Protocol. The ALN-ENM incorporates Hochiki's newest High Performance Chamber Technology removing the need to use Ionisation Smoke Sensors in the majority of applications. This also allows the sensor threshold level to be increased, thereby improving the signal to noise ratio and reducing susceptibility to false alarms.

ALN-ENM

Intelligent Smoke Sensor A Marine Approved Photoelectric Smoke Sensor, which is fully compatible with Hochiki's ESP Analogue Addressable Protocol. The ALN-ENM incorporates Hochiki's newest High Performance Chamber Technology removing the need to use Ionisation Smoke Sensors in the majority of applications. ATJ-ENM

Intelligent Heat Sensor A Marine Approved Multi-Heat Sensor, which is fully compatible with Hochiki's ESP Analogue Addressable Protocol. The ATJ-ENM incorporates a Variable Temperature heat element and a Rate Of Rise heat element, both of which are controlled from the Control Panel, allowing either thermal element or both elements simultaneously to be active in making the fire decision.

CHQ Range

Intelligent Input/Output Modules CHQ-DIM/M(SCI), a Marine Approved Dual Input Module designed to interface to a variety of inputs such as door contacts etc. CHQ-DRC/M(SCI), a Marine Approved Dual Relay Controller module designed to provide two general-purpose relay outputs. CHQ-DSC/M(SCI) is a Marine Approved Dual Sounder Controller, which has been designed to provide two sounder outputs.

HCP-E/M(SCI)

Intelligent Manual Call Point A Marine Approved Manual Call Point with integral short-circuit isolator, which is fully compatible with Hochiki's ESP analogue addressable protocol. The unit incorporates a bi-coloured LED, which will show amber when a short-circuit is present but will switch to red if the unit is activated. The unit operates by pressing the EN54 compliant non-frangible (plastic) element and is reset with a supplied key. Weatherproof version also available - HCP-W/M(SCI).

YBN-R/3

A Common Mounting Base which is fully compatible with Hochiki's ESP range of sensors. Supplied with square cable clamps for secure and reliable cable termination and is also capable of driving a remote LED if required.

SOC-E3NM

A Conventional Photoelectric Smoke Detector which is fully compatible with the majority of existing Conventional systems.

DCD-AE3

Conventional Heat Detector A Marine Approved Rate of Rise Heat Detector with a 60ºC fixed temperature element using a thermistor and linearising circuit to provide an accurate linear response Heat Detector. The DCD-AE3M is ideal for use where medium ambient temperatures exist, such as drying rooms or where Smoke Detectors are unsuitable because of the presence of steam or cooking fumes such as in a kitchen/galley.

DRD-EM

Conventional Flame Detector A Marine Approved IR Flame Detector designed for internal use to detect large flames. The detector fits the CDX Marine Approved standard mounting base (YBN-R/6M). The detection zone is a 90º cone and the detection range is up to and including 25 m.

MCP1A

Conventional Manual Call Point A Marine Approved Manual Call Point based upon the industry standard KAC world series housing. Supplied complete with SR-BACKBOX for surface mounting.

MBB-2

A Marine Back Box providing a splash proof and secure fixing for the Hochiki ESP?and CDX Marine Approved Range of Sensors and Detectors and their associated Bases. Provides an aesthetically pleasing solution where surface fixed devices are required. The housing supports four 20mm glanded entries for cabling access.

SLR-E-IS

A Conventional I.S. Photoelectric Smoke Detector designed for use in hazardous areas. Incorporates a remote indicator output and a removable chamber for easy maintenance.
